Why Choose the University of Adelaide
The University of Adelaide is the only institution in South Australia offering a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering. Graduates qualify for professional membership of Engineers Australia and all Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering degree programs (including double and combined) have been accredited by IChemE for academic year 2019.
Opportunities exist for selected students to undertake combined BE/BA, BE/BSc BE/BEc, BE/BFin and BE/BMaSc programs. For the BE Degree, students can choose between four distinct degree streams which allow them to gain specialised knowledge in specific industries:
- BE (Chemical)
- BE (Chemical - Minerals Processing)
- BE (Chemical - Sustainable Energy)
- BE (Pharmaceutical)
The Department of Chemical Engineering has well-equipped teaching and research laboratories and excellent computing facilities.
Currently there are about 224 undergraduate students, with more than 30% being female students, and 20 postgraduate (MEngSc, PhD) students.
